On 28 July 1870, Martha E. Jones (34, keeping house) lived in St. John Twp. (Harrison) IA, Missouri Valley PO, with her children Mary A. (13), Sarah A. (12), Wm. R. (11), Cenith A. (9), Emma A. (7), John R. (5), Albert H. (3), and Jane A. (11/12, b. Sept). All the children except the littlest two (Albert and Jane) attended school.
Botna Valley Genealogical Society Cemetery book says: Amanda A. Jones, daughter of Abraham Leander & Martha Ellen Jones, d. 14 Nov 1874, aged 1 y 5 m, but this can’t agree with Jane Amanda in the 1870 census. Maybe Jane A. and Amanda A. Jones are two different children (who both died young)?
